UDHIJAH YEMEN

GAZA, PALESTINE June 14, 2025-- Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed Qurbani meat providing 25,375 meals to impoverished families across Gaza Strip during the Islamic season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 16,500 people received meat from cows that were humanely slaughtered, frozen, and packaged in Egypt for distribution in Gaza. Families also received canned food in addition to meat.

Most of the beneficiaries were orphaned, displaced, or disabled, according to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal.

“Despite the hardship and uncertainty families face every day in the Gaza Strip, moments like sharing a meal together still matter deeply,” said Sherif. “Our donors’ generosity meant families didn’t have to feel forgotten during Eid, they had a warm meal and a reason to smile.”

More than 90% of families in the Gaza Strip face severe food insecurity, making access to nutritious food increasingly difficult for many households.

In addition to providing fresh meat for Udhiyah, Baitulmaal has also provided Ramadan food packages, education support, emergency aid and healthcare in Palestine. To learn more about or contribute to these efforts, visit Baitulmaal.org.
