ALEPPO, SYRIA October 30, 2026 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently provided back-to-school kits to children in Aleppo, Syria, to help them prepare for the new school year.

According to Ahmed Sherif, Director of International Programs at Baitulmaal, approximately 69 kits were distributed to school children that  included items such as notebooks, pencils, essential stationery, and other supplies.

“We hope that by providing these kits, we can take a little pressure off parents and give children one less thing to worry about as they return to the classroom. Every child deserves the chance to learn, feel supported, and keep working toward their goals”, said Rashed.

According to UNICEF, in 2025 reported that schools in Syria were damaged, destroyed or being used as shelters, disrupting children's access to classrooms.

In addition to distributing back-to-school kits to orphans in Syria, Baitulmaal has also provided fresh meat for Udhiyah, Ramadan food packages, delivered hygiene kits and water supplies, and provided emergency aid to families in Syria.
