A dream fulfilled

It began with a dream. Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام) saw in a vision from his Lord that he would sacrifice his beloved son as an act of obedience to God.

As he put his unwavering faith into motion, God showed him mercy and compassion by replacing his son with a lamb. Ibrahim’s devotion and courage passed God’s test and fulfilled the dream.

More than 4,000 years later, Muslims around the world observe the practice of Udhiyah, or sacrifice, to fulfill God’s wish for us to do good in this world in order to attain the good of the next.

The spirit of sacrifice

Many around the world are tested with hunger, thirst and poverty. Others are tested with plenty. But all of us are eligible for God’s Mercy through trusting that He will reward our patience, obedience, sacrifice and generosity.

By participating in the practice of Udhiyah, we do good for others by providing nourishing meat to those in need, and in turn, our souls are nourished, too.

Will you turn your compassion into hope in time for Eid?

“It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches God; it is your piety that reaches Him. Thus, He has subjected these animals to you so that you may glorify God for giving you guidance, and O’ Prophet, give good news to those who do good to others.
