Water Access
You can help with a donation today
Water is necessary for life. But dirty water is a leading risk factor for death. It also impacts quality of life and leaves people thirsty for hope.
Generous donors like you help communities access safe, clean water by:
- Digging deep-water wells in remote areas or schools that lack access to clean water sources
- Installing water filtration systems to keep fresh, clean water flowing
- Filling water tanks in areas impacted by low-quality water sources
- Distributing water when emergencies unfold
- Providing water for drought-relief efforts
Drinking water shouldn’t be risky.
But 1 in 4 people worldwide risk diseases like cholera and diarrhea that lead to severe illness, malnutrition – or worse – when they drink from polluted, contaminated water sources.
Nearly two-thirds of the world’s population struggles with water scarcity at some point during the year, according to the UN. That’s around 4 billion people who face challenges linked to water quality and access.
Sadly, unsafe water and hygiene practices are responsible for 700 child deaths every day, according to WHO and UNICEF. Deaths that are largely preventable.
That’s why it’s important for communities to have access to safe, clean water and sanitation facilities. Prioritizing water access can help maintain a community’s health, boost economic growth, improve school attendance — and save lives.
