Send much-needed food, water, medicine and other life-saving humanitarian aid to the Rohingya people

Rohingya: Ethnic Cleansing, Humanitarian Crisis

Muslims Stripped of Citizenship, Killed or Driven from their Homes

The crisis facing the Rohingya is astonishing. The Myanmar military has been engaged in a campaign to rid the country of all Muslims in the guise of national security.

More than 700,000 Rohingya have fled what the United Nations is calling a “textbook example of ethnic cleansing.” 354 Rohingya villages inside Myanmar have been burned to the ground or partially destroyed by military forces, leaving less than 50 percent intact.

Surviving Rohingya describe house-by-house killings, and Amnesty International reported that the Myanmar military also raped Rohingya women and girls as part of their ethnic cleansing.

They are being persecuted for no other reason than the fact that they are Muslim.

The Rohingya refugees may have escaped with their lives, but they have little else to help them survive harsh winters, wet seasons and daily life in resource-poor camps and makeshift shelters along the Bangladesh border. They need your help today because they’ve lost everything.

The overwhelming size of the refugee population makes it challenging for local governments to accommodate all needs. Refugees still need us to provide for them as they deal with being so violently displaced.

Baitulmaal has sent $209,500 in humanitarian aid that provided 596,400 meals, $3,000 for shelters, and winter clothing and blankets for 15,000 Rohingya refugees.
