KARACHI, PAKISTAN May 17, 2023 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed food packages that provided 201,000 meals to families in Pakistan in time for the Ramadan season.

The charity delivered food packages to approximately 500 families living in various villages in the Sindh province. The packages included items such as rice, flour, milk, vermicelli, spices, canned goods and cooking oil.

Pakistan is still recovering from devastating floods last year that impacted 30 million people, destroying crops, killing livestock and displacing families. Approximately 2 million homes were lost in Sindh province alone. As the monsoon season approaches, many families are struggling with food insecurity.

In addition to food assistance in Pakistan, Baitulmaal responds to emergencies such as flooding and earthquakes, provides seasonal aid and water access projects such as water filtration plants and wells.
