TÜRKIYE, August 29, 2026 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed back to school kits to 345 children in southern Türkiye to help prepare them for the new school year..
According to Ahmed Sherif, director of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the kits were distributed to orphaned children and contained backpacks, notebooks, stationery and other essential school supplies.
“We are grateful to Baitulmaal and all the sponsors for their support. The monthly sponsorship and back-to-school kits help us get the supplies we need to attend school and learn alongside other children,” said one young beneficiary.
According to UNICEF, approximately 300,000 children under temporary or international protection in Türkiye were out of school. Economic, social and systemic barriers contributed to the challenge of education.
In addition to distributing back to school kits in Türkiye, Baitulmaal has delivered fresh meat during Udhiyah, Ramadan food packages, emergency aid,and medical support in Türkiye.
