Help Liban Continue His Fight for Health This Ramadan
During a recent field visit, our team in Kenya met with young Liban Shire, one of Baitulmaal’s precious orphans, whose bright spirit continues to shine despite facing a difficult health challenge. Liban lives with his widowed mother and siblings, who rely on Baitulmaal’s support to meet their daily needs. What began as a routine progress check quickly turned urgent when it became clear that Liban required immediate medical attention for a serious kidney condition.
He was swiftly transported to Nairobi, where doctors confirmed that Liban’s left kidney was no longer functioning and had enlarged beyond its normal size, beginning to affect the right one. To protect the functioning kidney, a stent was inserted, which must remain in place for eight weeks. Once this period ends, Liban will return to Nairobi for stent removal and a surgery to extract the damaged kidney, a procedure scheduled during the upcoming long holiday.
Doctors have advised Liban to rest and avoid physical activity, as his enlarged kidney now extends below the rib cage and is vulnerable to injury. Following this advice, his mother has temporarily withdrawn him from school until it is safe for him to resume normal activities.
Recognizing the urgency of his condition, Baitulmaal intervened immediately to ensure Liban received life-saving care and remained out of danger. Thanks to this timely response, Liban is stable and hopeful — but he still needs our help to complete his treatment and fully recover.
The total amount needed for Liban’s treatment is approximately $5,500, which will cover the medical procedures that have already taken place, along with post-operative care, follow-up visits, and related treatment costs. During this blessed month of Ramadan, we invite you to join us in supporting Liban’s journey toward healing. Your compassion can help ensure he receives the care he needs to live a healthy, happy life.
Any additional funds raised will be used to provide Eid gifts and essential support for Liban’s family, spreading joy and hope this season.
Together, let’s help Liban heal and remind him that he is never alone — that his Baitulmaal family and kind-hearted donors like you stand beside him in his journey to recovery.

Ten Hearts, One Home: Farhiya’s Journey of Hope
Farhiya Omar Daud is a mother of ten children who has faced one hardship after another, yet continues to hold on to hope. Her husband passed away after battling advanced liver cancer. Relatives came together to help fund his treatment in Egypt, but despite every effort, he did not survive.
While alive, Farhiya’s husband sold the family’s only vehicle—a small dump truck—to cover legal expenses related to their land. Sadly, even after selling it, a debt of $5,550 remained. The family’s property documents are still held as collateral until this amount is cleared.
With ten children under her care, Farhiya struggles just to meet their basic needs. Every month, it costs around $100 to keep all her children in school and Qur’an classes. She does everything she can to ensure they continue learning, even when the burden feels impossible to carry alone.
This family has no support system, and no remaining assets beyond the house they live in—yet even that home is at risk because of the debt.
Supporting this family with $5,550 would free their home, lift a great emotional and financial weight, and allow Farhiya to focus entirely on raising her children and keeping their education uninterrupted.
Your help can give them the stability they need—and turn Farhiya’s story of struggle into one of renewed hope and security for her ten children.
Donor Update (January 2026):
Farhiya’s Hope Realized
Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to share that this fundraising project has been successfully fulfilled.
This January, Sister Farhiya was formally handed the title deed to her family home, which had been purchased for $5,625. The handover took place in the presence of her mother, Sheikh Adnan, the chairman of Imamu Nawawi Charity, the uncle of her orphaned children, and several respected family elders.
Sister Farhiya expressed her deep gratitude to Baitulmaal and its generous donors for helping secure her family home and for sponsoring two of her orphaned children. The elders from both her late husband’s family and her own also shared their appreciation, noting the compassion and generosity shown through your support.
May Allah accept your good deeds and reward you abundantly. Ameen.
