- Around 100,000 people have been evacuated inside Lebanon.
- At least 30,000 displaced people are currently staying in collective shelters, though many more are staying with relatives or fleeing to other areas.
- At least 217 people have been killed and nearly 800 injured in recent strikes and violence.
How You Can Help
In response to the emerging crisis, Baitulmaal has distributed 1,400 emergency food packages in addition to more than 3,000 hot meals, and is operating a mobile clinic to address the health needs of families who are living in overcrowded shelters and at higher risk of illness.
More aid is on the way, including hygiene and shelter kits, clean water, and emergency food assistance.
Your support enables us to help communities facing sudden and extreme hardship. Give today.
An Economic and Humanitarian Emergency
Lebanon is currently facing a worsening crisis driven by ongoing conflict, economic collapse, and growing humanitarian needs.
In August 2020, an explosion at the Port of Beirut shattered glass and caused buildings within six miles to collapse, severely limiting already-scarce food supplies.
This catastrophe not only worsened the hunger and economic crisis in Lebanon, but it also killed approximately 100 people and injured thousands.
The country’s healthcare system, which was already struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, was further strained and continues to face long-term roadblocks.
Ongoing violence exacerbates the struggles of a country holding on to hope.
Your Compassion Makes a Difference
Baitulmaal’s growing community of donors continue to respond to global crises with generosity.
