Ghana

You can help with a donation today

In rural areas of Ghana, poverty is prevalent. Basic needs are hard to come by, but our donors have been able to step in and make an impact in different ways. They’ve helped:

  • dig water wells
  • construct mosques and village centers
  • and provide other aid

Helping Rural Communities Thrive

Families in Ghana don’t suffer from a lack of water as much as they suffer from a lack of safe, clean drinking water.

Roughly 23 million Ghanaians don’t have regular access to sanitary water. One of the most common diseases plaguing communities in Ghana is cholera due to a lack of quality sanitation and clean water.

And Ghanaian children are 40 percent more likely than adults to live in poverty, according to UNICEF.

One way to address the growing needs of Ghana’s rural communities is to build village centers complete with water wells to provide safe, clean drinking water as well as a central place to gather, socialize, receive support and learn.

Build-a-Masjid is a new program at Baitulmaal. Anyone can contribute to the program, and Baitulmaal only uses funds donated for this purpose on the program. If you’d like to sponsor a masjid project, please contact us to get started.
