Education
You can help with a donation today
Generous donors like you help communities break the cycle of poverty through education by:
- Supplying textbooks to children to advance their education
- Providing back-to-school supplies such as uniforms, stationery, and backpacks to alleviate the costs of education
- Building and renovating schools to foster a safe space for children to develop motor skills and harness creativity

Education Empowers
Education is the gateway to prosperity, but for the world’s poor, education can be largely out of reach.
When war, natural disasters, or global health crises strike, even more families slip into poverty and have limited access to educational resources or opportunities.
But according to UNESCO, if all students in low-income countries could read, an estimated 171 million people could escape extreme poverty. If they completed their secondary education, the global poverty rate could decrease by more than half. And educated individuals can increase their earning power by 10 percent on average for each additional year of education they obtain. For women, it doubles to 20 percent.
Prioritizing education is a powerful protection against poverty. Your donation today can enable a child to access education and improve their quality of life.

Milele: “Love for your brother what you love for yourself”
In the early hours of the morning, the air is chilly as children wake up to pray under an open sky in Kenya. Among them is Milele.
Milele is 16 years old. His father died when he was eight, and for a time his mother struggled to raise him and his siblings with the few goats they owned. The next year, when Milele was nine, a generous Baitulmaal donor sponsored his education at the Furqaan Integrated Academy in Wajir, Kenya, which is a boarding school that educates orphaned and underprivileged children like him. Thanks to the donor’s support, Milele is due to graduate soon.
But Milele’s journey has only just begun. He hopes to pursue even higher education. His dream? To help other children like himself attend school. Watch the video to learn more about Milele’s inspiring story.
A life fueled by education means that a child has a chance to eat better, learn more, and have a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities. It inspires them to love to give back and see others thrive. This is the value of education — and the value of your support.
