GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE January 1, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently provided food packages, clothing, medical care, and psychological support to 100 orphans and their families in Gaza.
The aid included hot meals, vegetable packages, rehabilitation services for orphans with disabilities and the provision of assistive devices.
According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, this project aims to meet the basic needs of orphans while ensuring they remain in a nurturing environment, receiving the care and support they deserve.
“Every meal, every care package, every act of kindness reminds these orphans they are not forgotten,” Sherif said.
According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), more than 39,000 children in Gaza have lost one or both parents since October 2023, making it the largest orphan crisis in modern history.
In addition to orphan support programs, Baitulmaal has been working in Palestine for more than a decade providing food, emergency aid, clean water, psychosocial support, Ramadan food packages, and hygiene supplies.
Baitulmaal continues to distribute humanitarian aid to vulnerable families in Gaza. If you would like to learn more about or contribute to Baitulmaal’s efforts in Palestine, please visit their website at Baitulmaal.org.
