UDHIJAH YEMEN

SIDON, LEBANON, December 15, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed winter aid kits and clothes to 1,250 individuals living in Bekaa, Southern and Eastern Lebanon.

Winter kits included items such as food, blankets, heating coal, carpets and clothing to help families stay warm during the harsh winter months.

According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the beneficiaries included women, the elderly, children, orphans and displaced people.

“Every family we reach is facing the cold with limited resources,” said Sherif. “Seeing a child put on a warm sweater and feel safe from the cold fills me with happiness and gratitude.”

According to Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO),  around 874,000 people — including Lebanese residents, Syrian refugees, and Palestine refugees — are facing crisis or emergency levels of acute food insecurity between November 2025 and March 2026, underscoring the urgent need for winter support such as heating coal, warm clothing, and essential supplies.

In addition to providing winter relief in Lebanon, Baitulmaal has also provided Ramadan food packages, fresh meat for Udhiyah, emergency health kits and medical supplies, and installed electric generators to provide water.
