As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rampage throughout America, so does life-threatening food insecurity.
The nationwide increase in unemployment has resulted in household food scarcity, with more children than ever relying on school assistance programs for most of their meals.
Children are disproportionately affected by hunger and experience an increased risk of mental illness, developmental challenges, social delays and lower academic achievement as a result.
