FURQAN INTEGRATED ACADEMY is an institution which is different from other newborn institution based on Islamic principles in all its undertakings. It is a new school that currently operates in Wajir town, North Eastern province, Kenya. The main aim of the school is to serve as an income generating activity (IGA) for the orphans of Wajir Islamic children’s home and not a individual or group business. It’s a long term plan to serve as a center where many Islamic projects can be funded INSHA ALLAH.
We wish the center to be an example to other centers that are faced with financial crisis due to lack of donors (well -wishers). This could only be achieved by enlarging the institution and assisting it as it is in its initial stage.
The school was constructed by Baitulmaal and Amoud foundations based in USA and was opened on 2nd January 2009 with an enrolment of 362 pupils. the school provides both secular and Islamic education (Madarasa) simultaneously so as to enable the children attain clearly defined standards of practice and behaviours which helps them with the right attitude to work and above all the capacity to learn and continue learning so as to excel in a variety of fields.

To become a centre of excellence in provision of quality integrated education

OBJECTIVES
  • 1. To create an income generating activity (IGA) for the orphans
  • 2. To give the orphans true education by developing their physical, mental and spiritual abilities
  • 3. To prepare the Muslim children (orphans included) so that they meet the very basic intellectual challenges and social demands of their adult life within an Islamic environment – with perfect creed and worship only Allah with no associates.


STRATEGIES
The school being a new school was started low school fees(Ksh.1,200) to attract more parents .the rate is the same with other private schools in the district but our institution is different compared to other schools as we provide 10 o’clock tea and transport to and fro (bus). We also cover two syllabus simultaneously i.e. secular and Madarasa that necessitate more time with the students and staff compared to other schools. All these make the school exceptional as the expenditure is more (twice) than other schools hence the need to raise more money.
The school fees cannot be raised so abruptly within a year until we market the school and make the parents realize the difference between the school and others. The following are the strategies to achieve our objectives;
  • 1. Building on quality for we have the quantity. By so doing we will market the school to the community of Wajir and other neibhouring districts
  • 2. Salary incentives to the staff especially teachers so as to achieve quality education
  • 3. Creating other IGA’S like farm canteen as the school has the land so as to compliment the school
  • 4. Contributions from well wishers(Batul mal, Amoud and others)
  • 5. Raising school fees (after one year or so)
